Reason and its Rest: Hegel and the Tragic End of Dialectics
Research abstract

The aim of this research is to map the relationship between nature and spirit within Hegel's system. Our initial hypothesis is that this connection is double-edged: on the one hand, Hegel grants dignity and independence to the study of nature, understood as the logical Idea in the medium of exteriority, which can be examined as a series of categories (Mechanics - Physics - Organic Physics). On the other hand, nature is clearly subordinated to the spirit, which is presented as a higher dimension in the hierarchy, that is, as a more adequate way of expressing the development of the concept.
