The Concept of Common and the New Social Struggles
Research abstract

After the fragmentation of the struggles related to social criticism and transformation seen since the last third of the twentieth century, several authors have resume proposals for the integral transformation of society in the first decades of the current century. The concept of common is central to some of these proposals. The main objective of this research is to investigate this concept and to assess whether, and if so, how it can help us to think about the convergence of different struggles and singular subjects that have emerged in the scenarios of political clashes and theoretical discourses of social and political contestation and creation since the middle of the last century. Thus, it is expected to contribute to the enriching the contemporary political thought debate on this topic and, especially, to the understanding of the relationship between the common and today's political and social struggles.
