THE PATHS TO SELF-DETERMINATION OF THE RACIALIZED SUBJECT: A BLACK RATIO ANALYSIS
Research abstract

In this work, we intend to investigate the construction of the self-determination
of the black subject, from the historical and political movement that built the idea of
race, i.e., colonialism. To get to the problem of this subject's self-determination, we
will, at first, analyze the formation of race, within the contexts of colonization, slavery
and capitalism. In a second moment, to explore the construction of this racialized
subject in their movement towards self-determination, the formation of their
simultaneous doubled and split character, divided between wanting to assimilate and
wanting to emancipate themselves, will be investigated. Finally, we will investigate

through which political and social tools self-determination manifests itself. In order to
do so, the project establishes as a theoretical-philosophical basis the propositions of
Achille Mbembe, especially in Critique of black reason.
