In general, this research aims to understand the relationship between essence and existence in Baruch Spinoza's Ethics. First, we will carry out a careful study of the relationship between essence and characteristic existence of the infinite substance, of the thing said to be the cause of itself, when the first is the cause of the second. But the novelty of this work concerns that relationship between essence and existence that occurs in finite modes, particularly in the human finite mode, where the first does not cause the second, but both have God as their cause.
