ART AS GAME, REVELATION OF TRUTH AND SELF IN THE PHILOSOPHICAL HERMENEUTICS OF HANS GEORG-GADAMER
Research abstract

This work seeks to present, based on the thoughts of Hans-Georg Gadamer, a discussion about another way of knowing, which differs from the model proposed by methodical science, emphasizing the relationship between play and art. In this way, we seek to present art not only as an element of aesthetic enjoyment, but as a happening of truth. Criticisms are made regarding the reduction of the work of art, to purely aesthetic issues, as such reductionism is playing into the hands of methodical consciousness, which claims a monopoly on the notion of truth, limiting itself to the scope of what is scientifically knowable. Gadamer seeks to recognize from the notion of play that art has its truth, and this notion will be extremely relevant to justify the way of knowing the human sciences.
