TRANSLATIONS AND ANALYSIS OF ARISTOTLE’S METAPHYSICS LAMBDA
Research abstract

This PHD project is about Aristotle’s Metaphysics Lambda. This is one ongoing research and now I want to extract some results from the work partially done in master’s degree. The initial hypothesis from which I want to develop my thesis are: 1. Metaphysics Lambda 2-5 may be divided in two parts: L2-3 research of which are and how many are the principles of sensible substance, L4-5 research of the senses which the causes and the principles of sensible substance are the same and different for everything; 2. L2-3 investigate only the principles of substances comprehended as elements; 3. The matter has potentialities always different and this explains why the species are different and the differences in the same specie; 4. L3 will show that the form comprehended as specie is neither the formal cause neither the efficient cause of the sensible substance; 5. Lambda is an investigation about the totality of things that exists; 6. The division of Lambda should not be made respecting the division between sensible and immovable substance as usually is done.
