TEMPORAL DOMINATION AND PRESENTISM: POSTONE'S CRITICAL THEORY AND THE NEW ORDER OF TIME
Research abstract
This project aims to investigate the actuality of the concepts of abstract time and historical time in the work of Moishe Postone. To this end, an examination will be made of the contradictory dynamics established between both temporal forms in the face of the New World Time, marked by the contraction of horizons of expectation and the widening of the present. Such an examination will allow us to identify, finally, how the modification of Postone's temporal categories could contribute to the shrinkage of contemporary political experience.
