Research title
RECEPTION OF HESIOD IN PLATO'S LAWS.
Research abstract

The aim of this research project is to analyze in detail Hesiod's reception in Plato's last and most extensive work, the Laws. In this dialogue, Plato shows admiration and even affection for him (MOST, 2010), in particular, the Hesiod of Works and Days. Of course, there are also criticisms and censures, but nothing compared to the attacks of the Republic.
Therefore, we also intend to reflect on the possible reasons that led Plato to refer to Hesiod in such a positive way in this work. Advanced age, political interests, rhetorical development, or affinity with the poet will be points of investigation in the research.
