THE CORRESPONDENCE BETWEEN GOETHE AND SCHILLER IN THE LIGHT OF LUKÁCS
Research abstract
This project aims to investigate the correspondences between Goethe and Schiller in light of the interpretation made by György Lukács. She indicates that the exchange of letters between these two authors points to a strong philosophical and aesthetic collaboration. This document reveals a re-elaboration of the theory of art, at the same time that it announces the main tendencies and conceptions of the German philosophy and aesthetics of the 19th century: romanticism and German idealism. From this, the research seeks to understand how, in Lukács' view, the works of Goethe and Schiller that resulted from this collaboration belong to the line of German philosophical and aesthetic development.
