This research project aims to propose an investigation of Martial Gueroult's historiographical approach, focusing on the intersection between philosophy and its historical trajectory. Considering the inherent antinomy in understanding philosophy, which requires grasping its own development throughout history, we seek to revisit the theses and concepts present in Gueroult's structural method, such as "monument, language, temporality, discursive intentionality, dianoematic, etc." The research also focuses on two of Gueroult's works, dedicated to Descartes and Fichte, with the aim of understanding how the historiographical method was applied, as we believe that the practice of the method can reveal essential facets of its constitution. Therefore, the study aims to understand how Gueroult philosophically grounds the historicity of philosophy through a critical investigation of his historical commentaries and philosophical works.
