Research title
The intoxication of reason: the folding of sufficient reason by Gilles Deleuze
Research abstract

The project investigates Deleuze's interpretation of Leibniz, particularly the notion of sufficient reason, which Deleuze regarded as the central concept of Leibnizian thought. Leibniz is seen as one of the greatest creators of concepts in philosophy, deeply influencing Deleuze from Difference and Repetition (1968) to The Fold (1991). Sufficient reason, addressed from the beginning of Deleuze's work, is pivotal in his critique of the foundation. The study focuses on Difference and Repetition and The Fold, demonstrating how Deleuze’s philosophy of difference transforms sufficient reason, proposing a "true sufficient reason" that transcends traditional Leibnizian interpretation. Deleuze explores the connection between reason and unreason, foundation and groundlessness, proposing a creative philosophy, akin to art, aimed at the production of meaning. Philosophy moves away from the pursuit of truth and embraces the "liberation of the powers of the false," opening space for chaos and the incompossible.
