The general objective of this work is to propose an in-depth investigation of the aesthetic notion present in The Pale King, by David Foster Wallace, a writer with a degree in literature and philosophy, emphasizing modal logic. The research focuses on how the American author uses literature as a means of transposing the bureaucratic experience as an aesthetic phenomenon, revealing the complexities and tensions between the monotony of chores, procedures, and bureaucratic life and the human search for meaning. Through a detailed analysis of the narrative, stylistic, and thematic elements, as well as the processes the author used to compose the work, this study seeks to understand the social criticism implicit in the work and its philosophical implications for the human condition in contemporary times. The details of Wallace's work are used to analyze the relationship between human interiority and the bureaucratized exterior that shapes it and aims, if possible, to replace it.
