Between existentialism and Marxism, Sartre established himself as an engaged intellectual of his historical time. Attracted by Marx's approaches, his intellectual trajectory incorporated central concepts from this critical tradition, among which praxis and dialectics play a prominent role in understanding Sartrean texts from the post-war period, with particular emphasis on Search for a Method and Critique of Dialectical Reason. In a world marked by historical upheavals, what is the role of human praxis in shaping the meaning of History? And how do praxis and project interrelate to underpin dialectics for Sartre? Do the universal laws of dialectics direct praxis, or is the former founded on and by praxis? These and other questions guide the main objective of this project, which, after briefly reviewing Sartre's critical assessment of Marxism in his time, aims to engage with the debates raised in this context. Thus, the research object that this project aims to investigate is how praxis and project underpin dialectics in Sartre’s works, with a particular focus on works such as Search for a Method and Materialism and Revolution.
