Research title
THE ARISTOTELIAN THEORY OF INTELLECT AND PLATONISM – A STUDY ON LLOYD P. GERSON’S THESES ABOUT ARISTOTELIAN PSYCHOLOGY
Research abstract
this project aims to discuss the Aristotelian theory of the intellect, as present in the third book of De Anima, in light of the works of work of American-canadian philosopher Lloyd P. Gerson. In order to do so, I shall study the reception of Aristotelian theory among Peripatetic philosophers (Alexander of Aphrodisias and Themistius) as well as Neoplatonic ones (Plotinus, Simplicius and John Philoponus).
