Our objective is to map the notion of criticism in Michel Foucault's investigations, which would exercise an ambivalent task in the study of the forms of experience of thought possible from the analysis of discursive and non-discursive practices of knowledge, power and freedom: now having a double negative role, now a positive role. With the study of the ambivalent character of criticism, according to the configuration of these three domains of analysis of practices throughout his work, we will show that there is a delineable trajectory of his investigations as a critical history of thought that takes into account the continuities and ruptures that characterizes it.
