Research title
Carl Schmitt, the total state and the silences of antiliberalism
Research abstract

There is a common denominator in recent discussions that seeks to establish a relationship between a strong State and a free economy: Carl Schmitt. The reading that this thesis project will seek to shed light on goes in the opposite direction to understandings that seek to see in Schmitt a complete aversion to economic and political liberalism – as if he were the ultimate enemy to be fought –, affiliating him, rather, as precisely the author who traced the contiguity between a strong State and the healthy functioning of the economy.
