Research title
WITTGENSTEIN’S TREATMENT OF THE PROBLEM OF OTHER MINDS
Research abstract

The aim of this research is to study the later Wittgenstein’s treatment of the problem of other minds, based primarily on the final sections of Philosophische Untersuchungen, as well as on his later writings and remarks on the philosophy of psychology. We intend to compare his approach with the main philosophical positions on the matter, assessing the adequacy of his method for dissolving the problem. We believe that confronting the Wittgensteinian position with other approaches may help clarify substantial divergences concerning the interpretation of his thought and offer original contributions to the philosophy of mind, epistemology, and contemporary metaphysics.
