The project examines the status of indeterminacy in two authors who claim a Philosophy of Nature. Two historical moments and two particular philosophers shall be studied: Friedrich Schelling (at the turn of the 18th to the 19th century) and Gilbert Simondon (in mid-20th-century France). The research addresses a question not only theoretical and not merely philosophical. On the one hand, it is grounded in problems that have arisen in contemporary knowledge, both philosophical and scientific. On the other hand, it is also a practical and axiological problem, in its technical and economic origins, but also by its ecological and political consequences. The project aims to demonstrate the connection between both aspects by means of two authors who sought to clarify this link at key moments of philosophical reflection, scientific advances, and the transformation of ways of living.
