The philosophical canon indicates the works/philosophers considered classics. Recently, research on the canon and its homogeneous/exclusionary criteria has emerged, but much of it is still on the global north. These discussions have led to critical and feminist interpretations of the history of early modern philosophy that have highlighted Masham’s work. However, when Masham’s treatise is interpreted solely from this feminist perspective, the completeness of her philosophical contribution is overlooked. Our objectives are: to interpret/contextualize the book Occasional Thoughts in Reference to a Virtuous or Christian Life, through a translation into portuguese, with the aim of revising the early modern philosophical canon to (re)consider the moral philosophy of Masham
