Value perspectives and scientific activity in natural sciences: a philosophical study, with special reference to the case of 18th century european chemistry.
Research abstract

The work focuses on the evolution and transformations of chemistry in the 18th century guided by Hugh Lacey’s and Pablo Mariconda’s scientific activities and values interaction model and also under the inspiration of Ludwik Fleck's evolutionary approach to modern science. We seek to cover the development of chemistry through the analysis of transformations in operations and ontological status of the oil of vitriol from the late 17th century, to vitriolic acid as it was called throughout that century until, with the New Chemical Nomenclature (1787), the substance got the designation its known by today, namely, sulfuric acid.
