Research title
Desire and politics in Spinoza, a study of Ethics
Research abstract

This work deals with politics and affectivity. We will not develop this discussion starting from Spinoza's political texts, but because it concerns an investigation about genesis - the affective genesis of common life - our protagonist is Ethics. An accurate look at the geometric structure of this work reveals that the political issue is not a theme that only occurs in the second half of Part IV, but something that has been designed since the beginning, within the intricacies of EI ontology, EII physics and of the science of the affects of the EIII. Political discussion is an imminent issue. However, we are interested in the centrality of an affection, the desire; and how the construction of this concept within that work is fundamental for Spinoza's policy and for understanding the institution of common society.
