The real distinction between essence and being in chapter IV of On Being and essence: formulation and starting point.
Research abstract

The purpouse of this work is to investigate the argument about the intellection of essence present in chapter IV of Thomas Aquinas' book On Being and Essence. Commentators are unanimous in placing it as the first phase of a longer argument that aims to establish the composition of form and being of simple substances. However, whether or not this composition, which is extended to all created beings, implies a real distinction between essence and being and in which phase it would be possible to establish are points still disputed among commentators that we intend to confront in search of the clarification of the question.
