On the crossing of digital: the problems and the meanings of information
Research abstract
We propose a philosophical analysis of information, one of the most important concepts on the digital technologies’ era. Therefore, we will investigate how were constituted the epistemological, ontological and ethical-political bases of digital information. Simondon's philosophy will be used as a guide because he was one of the few contemporary thinkers of the genesis of information techniques, technologies and sciences who gave the real dimension of it. Finally, we aim to connect it with the concepts of organization, communication, system, modulation and reticulation, offering subsidies for a critique of digital individuation and subjectivation, and, furthermore, how they are intertwined with power and knowledge dynamics in our present.
