Philosophy and Litterature: music as a sensible in Mer5leau-Ponty's thought
Research abstract
Music participates at Merleau-Ponty’s thinking as a case of sensible ideia, fixated, in litterature,
mainly in Marcel Proust’s novel, À la recherche du temps perdu. Thus, philosophy’s task becomes
the meditation and deepening of that fixation, through philosophical interrogation. Our research
consist in following, at three precise moments, the sensible ideias notion’s development as an
ontological concept in Merleau-Ponty’s thinking. Therefore, we will analize the function in the
reasoning of the sensible ideias as a mutted expressive operation, as a mean to explain the
alterations this notion suffered between the Phenomenology of Perception and The visible and the
Invisible.
