The research aims to understand the persistence of the critique of the ideology of the manuscripts of The German Ideology, by Marx and Engels, in the critique of the political economy of Theories of Surplus Value. It is argued that if the critique of the ideology of 1845 and 1846 points to a correspondence between two inversions, the real inversion in which the power arising from cooperation between individuals appears to them as a strange power, and the ideological inversion, according to which ideas appear as endowed with power over individuals and with their own reality, the critique of the political economy undertaken in the manuscripts of 1861 to 1863 refers the history of economic thought to the history of the formation of capitalism, so that the theory of value up to its Ricardian formulation is consistent with the development of modern industry.
