Starting from the Origin of German Tragic Drama, this research proposes to give rise to another reading of the concept of allegory, presenting its ethical dimension in the representation of otherness. To do this, we must first understand the notion of origin from an epistemological and temporal analysis in three moments of the Prologue: the differentiation between Vorstellung and Darstellung that Benjamin makes in the light of Platonism, the Leibnizian influence in the constitution of Benjaminian monadology as a critical model temporal; and apprehension of the concept of origin from its genealogical foundations such as criticism of the Hegelian philosophy of history and its appropriation by positivists and its salvation from the ethical dimension of awareness. Secondly, give rise to the concept of otherness, defining it in Benjamin's dialogue with Buber, who presents it from the analysis of the linguistic question of Self with Other. Finally, we must carry out an aesthetic critique of some Baroque works in order to demonstrate the apprehension of otherness in the allegorical reception, manifested as another saying in the representation of female martyrdom.
