The present research aims to investigate some presuppositions that seem necessary to properly understand how the principle of causality, expound by Kant in the Second Analogy, constitutes a problem in the Critique of pure reason. According to the proposed circumscription, it is not a matter of assessing whether the specific proof proposed by the author is sufficient or not. Rather, it is about: on the one hand, making the necessity for the System of Principles understandable as the only place where the principle of causality can and should be worked out and, on the other, deepening the concept of analogy in order to better understand the terms of the question and to present a reading key that seems interesting to pave the way for possible investigations of the problem posed by the Second Analogy.
