Research title
Reason and Sensibility in Schleiermacher's Hermeneutics
Research abstract

the present research work proposes the study of Schleiermacher's theory on interpretation, insofar as his thesis comprises the understanding composed through two movements: the understanding of the discourse, taken from the language, grammatical interpretation; and the understanding of discourse as a fact in the thinking subject, psychological interpretation. Through this research, we seek to investigate the logical foundations of this notion of understanding, taking into account the singular aspects of the subject and the act of interpretation, which also involves an artistic skill of composition. This, incidentally, will be for the author an indispensable condition for understanding. In this way, we will try to demonstrate how Schleiermacher was able to overcome the limits of linguistics and poetics of his time, and, therefore, continues to be an unavoidable paradigm for all those who dedicate themselves to the study of hermeneutics until the present day.
