Research title
The death of god in Faith and Knowledge and in the Phenomenology of Spirit
Research abstract

Hegel declares the sensation of the death of god, in Faith and Knowledge, to be the foundation of the religion of his time; years later, in the Phenomenology, he concludes the transition from Religion to Absolute Knowing with the death of the God-Man and of the Abstract Divine Substance. The understanding of the genesis and the use of the theme of the death of god will allow us to comprehend how Hegel envisions an overcoming both of the religion and the philosophy of his time, and how he seeks to establish the possibility of a new and racional world, free from modern alienation and its political and social consequences.
