BERTRAND RUSSELL'S JUDGMENT THEORIES: BELIEFS, TRUTH AND FALSEHOOD
Research abstract

What does a false belief refer to? How is language actually formed? These questions are frequent in Russell's 1921 theory. However, they appeared much earlier, in 1905, with the Theory of Definite Descriptions. Unfortunately, this theory went into crisis because of the problem of the direction of the elements. In 1910, Russell returned to the theory [On the Nature of Truth and Falsehood] trying to resolve the difference between true and false statements. In 1913, Wittgenstein criticized the theory, which led Russell to abandon it and present a new theory in 1921. The dissertation aims to reconstruct this entire theoretical journey, from 1905 to 1921.
