Research title
The inverse of finitude: a study on the concept of experience in Hege
Research abstract

This dissertation seeks to demonstrate how Hegel, in the Phenomenology of Spirit, displaces the concept of experience from its traditional meaning. By including historical and social determination in this concept, as well as the notion of retroactivity, Hegel places experience beyond the limits of representation, that is, it is no longer just a matter of a subject experiencing his object as other, because it is not limited to the coordinates of finitude and also does not deceive itself with an attempt to apprehend the object in-itself. In addition, through the concept of experience understood in this way, it seeks to argue how the Phenomenology of Spirit is not a work in contradiction with the mature system, nor even surpassed. On the contrary, it is about understanding how the dialectic of consciousness and spirit that we follow throughout the work is the constant presupposition of the system.

Keywords: Hegel; German Idealism; Dialectic; Consciousness; Spirit.
