The objective of the research is to examine the theory of representation through which the English philosopher Thomas Hobbes builds the most mature and elaborated version of his political doctrine. The Leviathan demonstration innovates and resolves certain ambiguities in previous works by using the theory of representation, support of the supreme power of the sovereign; opens political science to modernity. With this fiction, reasoning acquires a coherence that it had not yet achieved in either Elements of Law or De Cive. What might seem insufficient in previous works is resolved by the theory of representation.
