Research title
Intuition in Clement Greenberg
Research abstract

This work intends to investigate how intuition in relation on aesthetic experience, formulated by Clement Greenberg, in the middle decades of the 20th century, allows us to understand how an appreciation in the visual arts based on sensitive experience and mediated by values was configured. The point of convergence of Greenberg's terms is situated in the aesthetic experience as a pedagogical modulator of sensitivity, inscribed in his texts by bringing
his own point of view closer to that of the spectator in general, capable of expressing an
honest reaction that makes his work and sensitivity known. This debate takes place through analyzes of the formal characteristics of painting from the 19th to the 20th century, from Manet to Pollock.
